Things to do in Madrid: 5 cultural plans to enjoy this summer

By Alejandra Meléndez

The arrival of summer, the good weather, and the sunny days invite you to go out, discover unique spots, and make the most of everything the city has to offer. Exhibitions, concerts, festivals, terraces, and outdoor activities make Madrid a vibrant destination, ideal for unforgettable cultural experiences.

Here are five suggestions you can't miss this summer:

1. Martini Terrace

Inspired by the iconic 1950s Terrazza MARTINI, the rooftop terrace of the Círculo de Bellas Artes is transformed into the new place to be this summer. Experience Madrid from above, enjoy privileged views of the city, sunset DJ sets, and exclusive cocktails by MARTINI: Banco Spritz, Fiero Spritz, Floreale, and Paco Preparado. Every Saturday, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, until July 19th.

2. Nights at the Botanical Garden

The Botanical Nights return to the Royal Botanical Garden Alfonso XIII, bringing with them the magic of open-air concerts. An eclectic program ranging from pop to flamenco, including jazz and fusion, in one of Madrid's greenest and most pleasant settings.  From June 6th to July 29th. Music, nature and a great atmosphere all in one plan.

3. LOEWE Foundation Craft Prize Exhibition

The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum is hosting a unique exhibition featuring the finalist works of the prestigious Loewe Foundation Craft Prize.
Until June 29, you can discover exceptional pieces of ceramics, wood, metal, and textiles created by 30 artists from around the world. It's an opportunity to immerse yourself in contemporary craftsmanship and learn firsthand about the techniques, materials, and visions that bring each work to life.

4. Cibeles de Cine

This summer, Cibeles de Cine returns under the imposing dome of CentroCentro, with a program that blends classics, new releases, and independent films. In addition to screenings, the venue offers special events, talks with directors, meetings with film crews, and a gastronomic area with delicious options. A cultural oasis in the heart of Madrid. From June to September.

5. Summers in the Village

From July 9 to August 25, Veranos de la Villa floods Madrid with culture, offering a diverse and vibrant program of concerts, theater, dance, zarzuela, circus, and urban art in venues throughout the city. A festival for all ages, it celebrates creativity and Madrid's identity from every angle. See the full program on its official website.
